There are no perfect schools. However, the attempt to deliver "private school" education as a public school is exemplary. Wish they had greater capacity for individual accommodations, but they do a good job with the resources that they have. The school serves a mix of incomes and is very diverse. There are a wide variety of afterschool programs and special events. Our concern has been class size. It is a public school. Parent involvement is critical. There is a lot to read through (emails, online portals) to make sure that your child is keeping up an not missing out. But if you spend the same amount of time with your kid at JCE that you would if he/she were in private school, you might get similar results. For those struggling to decide between the high costs of private tuition and JCE, put most of your money in the bank for college tuition, come to this school, and give generously with both your time and donations. You'll sleep easier.

I would give this school a rate 0 if there is a such rating. This school is aweful. Unqualified teachers, housewifies turned to teachers. The manner of teachers are not professional. All for ratings. They treat minority students like trash, and used lazy, bad words on kids. and pushed several kids to cry in the classroom. 5th graders have to do homeworks until 10:30pm to go to bed, way later than High Schoolers. I wont recommend anybody come to this school. Teachers beating down kids self confidences instead of nurturing them.

I have read about the Principal... She is absolutely supportive and always involved in all the activities... so are the teachers and the entire staff of the school... Ever ready to help all the visitors and parents. I love the school...

Great school with caring teachers and leadership that strives towards excellence. Our child with a learning disability has been given phenomenal support in a very nurturing environment. Our second child is growing and confidence as he excels with the support of his second grade teacher.

I agree with the posts about the Principal. Why does she not even stop, in the hallways, and talk to the children? I only see her wanting them to be "soldiers" and "talking DOWN to them". Why is this principal STILL AT JCE? We have complained about her since 2009- when are the changes coming? The community and children NEED it....

This school does have the potential to be great if they would try to address students with mild learning differences. I agree totally with the previous review. It would be nice if they taught handwriting as part of the curriculum (not as part of an afterschool program that has to be paid for).

This is a good school, but could be great if they would accomodate children with even very slight learning disabilities. Some of the teachers are wonderful, but there is not a coordinated effort in helping children that need a little extra help. These children become insanely frustrated and the parents are forced to find privite school alternatives to meet their child's needs. Such a shame. Oh, and they don't teach grammer or have books to study from.

The teachers are outstanding and facilities are new. The school is not open to helping children who may not have a traditional learning style or who may need extra help in some areas. The leadership discourages special interest clubs (art, science, math legos etc.). The principal believes that academic clubs pose a liability risk . . .

This school is outstanding! The Principal is awsome- we will miss her tremendously when she transfers to Coal Mountain Elem. :( !!!!! The counselors are tremendous and truly care about each child. The teachers are phenomenal! They are well prepared for each lesson and love each child as if they were their own child. I always see the teachers involved and engaged in every aspect of the education at Johns Creek Elementary. Keep up the great work Johns Creek. You are above the rest in Forsyth County!!

Great school, excellent programs for all students. Great counselors who really are involved. I haven't witnessed any bullying and I think there is a lot of diversity. My child's class is made up of at least 4 different ethnicities, which I think is great. Better than private school.

Excellent school. One of the best in the state. Strong academically, caring of children and their needs drives the mission and decision making. Top notch teachers and administrators. Nationally acclaimed for strong curriculum and use of technology. Safe and nurturing environment. Equates well to strong private schools in the area.

Poor. Lack of diversity, bullying by students, low performing students and children with special needs are placed with mainstream students and the students are not properly managed to ensure that they are being respectful of all children. The administration are so focused on creating a fun environment that academics takes a back seat in the school.
